SEASON 2008 / 9

SEASON 2007 / 8

Mens 5's (3) Romford 3's (0) on 01 - Feb - 08

This was Haverings best performance of the season, they push hard from the start and spent most of the time in the Romford half for the first 20 minutes. With all the pressure Romford defended well but Havering went in at half time 1 up after Avnish Shah managed to break the deadlock with a well stuck shot from a tight angle. Havering continued to push hard in the second half, and the junior players combining well especially Callum Hill and Jake Townsend in midfield. The pressure resulted in Havering increasing the lead with 2 goals from Steve Adcock who deflected in shots from short corners. Romford then step up a gear, but Havering defended well especially from one of the junior players man of the match Dinnal Shah.

Mens 5's (0) Old Southendians (1) on 08 - Dec - 08

The mens fives lost 1-0 in a close game to old southendians. Southendians attacked well for alot of the game. Good defending by sweeper and skipper Steve Adcock aswell as some descent saves from goalkeeper Jordan Phillips kept the game tight. Havering had a number of short corners when on the attack but couldn't find that needed finish.

Mens 5's (0) East London (10) on 13 - Oct - 07

A poor start to the season saw Havering lose 6-0 away to East London in their first match in Division 8SE.

Havering had started the game really well and had many chances to take the lead within the first 10 minutes. But Havering seemed to go to sleep and East London took all the opportunities that came to them ensuring a 5-0 lead at half time.

The second period was much better and Havering worked hard to try to get back into the match but East London grabbed another goal and the away side crashed to a big defeat.

Despite the amount of goals conceded, Jordan Phillips made plenty of awesome saves in goal to prevent more goals being scored. Havering also had a goal disallowed from a poor umpiring decision when a free hit taken by Ray Wilson was smashed into the back of the net by Dave Pasola but the whistle was already blown because the East London defence was not 5 yards back. The match saw a good performance by Callum Hill playing his first game.
